Benefits of membership

The Safer Parking initiative is a police crime prevention accreditation. It means that the parking facility has passed a police risk assessment and demonstrated a commitment to high standards, obtaining the award.

The awards are reviewed annually to ensure that the quality and integrity of the Safer Parking brand is preserved and maintained.

Safer Parking car parks have lower crime as operators do all they can to reduce both crime and the fear of crime - some facilities have seen vehicle-related crime drop by up to 80%.

Joining the Safer Parking initiative and achieving a Safer Parking certification mark is a strategic move for any parking operator. It is widely recognised by parking facility operators, local authorities and increasingly by consumers and it signals to the public that you prioritise their safety above all else. The Safer Parking award is not just a badge, it is a commitment to excellence.

  • The Safer Parking initiative remains the definitive, and only police-backed, security benchmark for car park facilities and Meet and Greet operators
  • Being part of the initiative builds customer trust, telling your customers that you are committed to reducing crime and the fear of crime in your car parks
  • Accredited car parks are listed on our Safer Parking Car Park Finder building awareness of your facilities to potential customers
  • Safer Parking locations are shown on apps and Sat Nav devices
  • Branded promotional signage can be used by all Safer Parking Award holders
  • Safer Parking Area Managers are crime reduction specialists, accredited car park auditors and available to share knowledge and best practice with you to make your car parks cleaner, brighter and safer
  • We actively promote and market the initiative in the media, on the web, in social media and in print

Your route to membership

You can apply to become a member of the Safer Parking initiative.

Our Area Manager will contact you, provide expertise and advice to help ensure your parking facilities are of the required standard to achieve the Safer Parking certification mark.

A date will be arranged for a police assessor to visit your site and assess your facility against the Safer Parking criteria. Your Area Manager will assist you through this process.

Once your facility has passed the assessment, you will receive the relevant Safer Parking Award and will then be entitled to all of the benefits that come with being an award holder.
